All about Kids camp

WASAC Kids Camp is a one-week summer day camp offered to kids from over 70 schools in Winnipeg, completely free of charge. Lunch, snacks, and all activities are provided.

Each morning, the kids get dropped off at their school (or designated pickup school) and then get picked up by WASAC leaders on a school bus, which brings them to camp at the Old Exhibition Grounds. At the end of the day, the bus brings them back to their school.

Activities at WASAC Kids Camp include :

  • swimming

  • soccer

  • handball

  • traditional Indigenous games

  • dodgeball

  • volleyball

  • basketball

  • floor hockey

  • coding

  • arts and crafts

  • Indigenous cultural activities

Monday, everyone gets into their groups by grade, meets their new friends and their leaders, and then gets their t-shirts. The rest of the day, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are normal days at camp, filled with the above activities, and on one day the children will take a short coding class.

Thursday is carnival day. We have a bouncy obstacle course, a bouncy slide, face paint, cotton candy, and lots of carnival games!

Friday is PARTY day! We have a BBQ lunch and have a winddown celebration with the campers. At the end of the day, the kids can get their new friends and their favorite leaders to sign their shirts, and then they can take them home as a souvenir.
